"(...) Here it has muted nose at first and I was not alone in suspecting that there was a touch of brettanomyces at play and consequently it become duller, not brighter with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, perfectly judged acidity and wonderful harmony - far superior to the aromatics, as if eager to make amends. (...)"

The Château de Chambolle-Musigny in the Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier has been in the Mugnier family since 1863.

From 2004 he has taken back the Nuits St Georges Clos de la Maréchale vineyard, on lease to Faiveley since 1950. 

The Domaine is the second largest owner of le Musigny.
