"The 2008 Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux is slightly green on the nose and reveals scents of freshly baked sourdough bread along with graphite, dark fruits, and a touch of raspberries. Straightforward and firm on the palate, this rather light-bodied, just ripe, peppery Cabernet Franc is somewhat austere and slightly drying on the palate, but has a stimulating grip and an authentic character. INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

The estate encompasses 10 hectares and the brothers use organic farming methods, limiting yields and only harvesting once the grapes have reached perfect maturity.

They produce three red cuvées:

the Poyeux, wines with great scope and wonderful finesse with a beautiful deep ruby shade and the Bourg cuvée, a refined, dense wine that is aged in new oak barrels for 18 to 24 months.

As for whites, the Brezé cuvée is now one of the best white wines in the Loire Valley.
