Vin Jaune is the signature wine of Jura. Made from the Savagnin grape, it’s not dissimilar to unfortified sherry.

"The king of wines and the wine of the kings", the yellow wine requires 6 years of aging without racking which give its unique nutty character.

As an aperitif with Comté cheese and walnuts, with poultry, white meat or fish, accompanied of creamy sauces containing Vin Jaune, and exotic food.

Can be cellared for 30+ years.

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

The Domaine Labet, founded by Alain Labet in 1974, is one of the pioneers in the Côtes du Jura region, especially known for producing ouillé white wines. Alain developed a unique parcel-based approach, distinguishing each of his terroirs in both winemaking and aging to better express the diversity of the land. Today, Julien and Charline Labet, his children, continue cultivating these remarkable old vine parcels with a deep respect for nature. The estate prioritizes herbicide-free viticulture, and total culture is gradually being implemented across all vines.

The wines from the domaine are exceptionally brilliant and deep, with impressive power, resulting from careful winemaking and aging in oak barrels. The white wines, particularly Chardonnay and Savagnin, are structurally impressive, offering aromatic complexity that evolves beautifully with time. These wines are also renowned for their freshness and longevity, making them particularly interesting for collectors and wine connoisseurs.
