Tasting notes

The vineyard of S.Stefano is considered to be one of the most historically important cru for Barolo.

The grapes of this vineyard produce wines with exceptional perfumes and a high varietal concentration, thanks to the south-south easterly, south-westerly exposure and to the composition of the soil, made of gray marls layers, compacted in depth and alternated to sandstone layers amalgamated into yellow-reddish sand deposits. In spite of their intense structure, these wines are exquisitely round and have velvety tannins.

This 1996 is drinking at its peak right now with soft velvety tannins and still has a solid core of cherry fruit and exotic spice.
