Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Françaises 1992 (with wooden case)

Tasting notes

Vieilles Vignes Françaises is a genuine "living legacy" wine, a memory of the era prior to the ravages of phylloxera.

Exuberantly rich, botrytis-enhanced nose, with honey, apricot, aromatic wood, ashes, and tea leaves. Lovely freshness on the vivacious, perfectly integrated, mellow palate. Still tight and holding back some of its charms. A lovely vintage, even if it is not one of the most famous.
