Cavallotto

The Cavallotto Estate, founded in 1928 by Giacomo Cavallotto, is one of the most respected producers in the Piedmont region of Italy. Located in Castiglione Falletto, at the heart of the Barolo appellation, the estate spans 25 hectares, primarily dedicated to red grape varieties typical of the region, such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Grignolino, and Freisa.

The estate is currently managed by the fourth generation of the Cavallotto family: Laura, Giuseppe, and Alfio. They inherited the know-how passed down since 1928, when Giacomo Cavallotto purchased the estate.

Among the estate’s flagship wines are:

  • Barolo Bricco Boschis: An exceptional Barolo from the eponymous cru, known for its depth and aging potential.
  • Barolo Vignolo: Another prestigious cru offering an elegant and structured expression of Nebbiolo.
  • Barbera d'Alba: A fruity and approachable red wine, showcasing the typical character of Barbera.
  • Dolcetto d'Alba Vigna Scot: A rich and complex Dolcetto, offering excellent value for money.

The estate is recognized for its commitment to sustainable viticulture, favoring practices that are environmentally friendly and aimed at preserving soil biodiversity. The wines are traditionally vinified, with long fermentations and aging in large Slovenian oak barrels, which help preserve the pure expression of the terroir.

Thanks to its family heritage and respect for winemaking traditions, the Cavallotto Estate continues to produce high-quality wines that reflect the authenticity and unique character of Piedmont.
