Bodegas Asenjo & Manso: An Exceptional Estate in the Heart of Ribera del Duero
Introduction to Bodegas Asenjo & Manso
Founded in 2004, Bodegas Asenjo & Manso is a family winery located in La Horra, in the Ribera del Duero region, one of Spain's most prestigious wine-growing areas. The estate spans 40 hectares of vineyards, predominantly planted with Tempranillo, the emblematic grape of the region, with vines ranging from 10 to 100 years old.
Bodegas Asenjo & Manso’s viticulture practices stand out due to their commitment to organic farming. The estate cultivates its vineyards without the use of chemicals or herbicides, and only employs natural fertilizers when necessary. This environmentally respectful approach reflects their desire to produce wines of exceptional quality while preserving the local ecosystem.
The Winery: An Innovative Design for Optimal Aging
The winery at Bodegas Asenjo & Manso, built 6 meters underground, is a masterpiece of modern architecture, featuring a brick-arched structure that ensures optimal temperature and humidity management for aging wines in barrels. This innovative design creates the perfect conditions for wine maturation, guaranteeing their superior quality.
In addition to its production area, the winery includes a grape selection space and a tasting room where visitors can discover the winery's craftsmanship and sample the different wines in their collection.
The Wines of Bodegas Asenjo & Manso: Exceptional Vintages
Bodegas Asenjo & Manso offers a varied range of wines, each with its own personality and reflection of the unique terroir of Ribera del Duero.
AM3: A young and fresh wine made from the estate's youngest vines. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in used French oak barrels for 3 months. Ideal for those seeking a light and fruity wine.
Ceres Crianza: A classic Crianza wine from Ribera del Duero, made entirely from Tempranillo grapes sourced from 20 to 40-year-old vines. It is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, offering complex aromas and an elegant structure.
Silvanus Crianza: Another Crianza wine, produced from vines aged 20 to 60 years. This wine stands out for its aromas of ripe fruit, balsamic notes, and wood, delivering a balanced mouthfeel and a long finish.
A&M: The premium wine from Bodegas Asenjo & Manso, made from the oldest family vines. With a limited production of just 3,500 bottles per year, this wine is a true expression of the Ribera del Duero terroir.
