Tenuta di Trinoro

Tenuta di Trinoro, founded by Andrea Franchetti in the early 1990s, is a visionary estate located in the remote Val d'Orcia in southwestern Tuscany. Inspired by the great wines of Bordeaux, Franchetti planted high-density, low-trained vines, a method more reminiscent of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol than traditional Tuscan viticulture. This bold approach has earned the estate a reputation as one of Italy's most iconic producers.

From its debut, Tenuta di Trinoro achieved “cult wine” status, thanks to the limited production, exceptional quality, and striking character of its wines. Today, the estate produces approximately 80,000 bottles from 30 meticulously managed hectares, while maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality.

The flagship Tenuta di Trinoro wine is a blend of Bordeaux varieties—Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot—crafted into an opulent, powerful expression of its unique terroir. The estate also produces a second wine, Le Cupole di Trinoro, made from barrels that do not meet the rigorous standards of the Grand Vin. This second wine offers a more accessible entry point into the world of Tenuta di Trinoro, while still reflecting the estate's dedication to excellence.

With its innovative vision and Bordeaux-inspired techniques, Tenuta di Trinoro stands as a beacon of modern winemaking in Tuscany, celebrated for its bold, rich, and age-worthy wines.
