Le domaine La Barroche

Domaine la Barroche is a family-owned winery located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, founded in 1703 by Alexandre Barrot. Today, it is run by siblings Julien and Laetitia Barrot. The estate primarily lies to the north and northeast of the appellation, on diverse terroirs of rolled pebbles and sandy soils. The estate cultivates the traditional southern Rhône varieties such as Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault, Clairette Blanche, and Vaccarèse, with some vines reaching up to 100 years old.

Viticulture practices are environmentally conscious, with a focus on green harvesting, reducing yields, and working the soils. These methods have allowed the estate to establish itself as one of the rising stars of Châteauneuf-du-Pape under the leadership of Julien Barrot. The estate has earned numerous accolades for the quality of its wines, particularly due to its modern winemaking techniques.

The estate produces prestigious cuvées, including the "Julien Barrot" cuvée, a complex blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and other varieties. This wine stands out for its depth, ripe dark fruit aromas, and spicy notes, offering excellent aging potential.
