Chapelle-Chambertin is a grand cru from the Côte de Nuits, located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy. With a surface area of 5 hectares 48 ares and an annual production of approximately 20,000 bottles, it is relatively rare, which enhances its value. This wine, made exclusively from Pinot Noir, stands out for its ability to open up more quickly than other grand crus in the region. It is generally very expressive, offering aromas of stone fruits like cherry, plum, and sometimes delicate floral notes.
The terroir of Chapelle-Chambertin, rich in limestone and clay, benefits from optimal exposure that allows the grapes to ripen slowly. This imparts great finesse and elegance to the wine, which are characteristic of this appellation. On the palate, Chapelle-Chambertin wines present fine tannins and a silky texture, with beautiful length. Although more accessible in its youth than other grand crus from the Côte de Nuits, it has an aging potential of 10 to 15 years depending on the vintage, gaining in complexity and depth over time.
Chapelle-Chambertin wines are perfect for pairing with refined dishes, especially fine roasted meats, such as roast veal or duck breast, which will highlight the wine's finesse. This grand cru also pairs very well with aged cheeses, such as Citeaux or Comté.
Unlike other grand crus in the region, Chapelle-Chambertin is often more accessible and expressive in its youth, making it particularly attractive for those who wish to appreciate its qualities earlier, while still benefiting from its aging potential.
Charmes-Chambertin is a grand cru from the Côte de Nuits, located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy. With a surface area of 12 hectares and 24 ares and an annual production of approximately 150,000 bottles, it is one of the most significant crus in the region. This wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, and it stands out for its ability to be fully appreciated with age.
The Charmes-Chambertin has a highly developed aromatic profile that unfolds over time. It charms with aromas of red fruits such as blackcurrant, cherry, and liquorice, along with delicate floral notes, particularly violet. These characteristics, combined with a solid structure, make this wine an excellent choice for lovers of complex and elegant wines.
On the palate, Charmes-Chambertin is rich, with fine tannins and a beautiful length, and its aging potential is impressive. While more accessible in its youth than some other grand crus from the Côte de Nuits, it reaches its peak between 15 and 25 years depending on the vintage, gaining in complexity and depth over time.
The wines of Charmes-Chambertin pair wonderfully with elaborate and flavorful cuisine, making it an excellent match for dishes such as meats in sauce, game, or roasts. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses, such as Citeaux or Comté.
This grand cru is produced by several renowned estates, and its reputation is built on its aromatic richness, finesse, and aging potential, making it a highly sought-after wine among connoisseurs.
Mazis-Chambertin is one of Chambertin's satellite Grands Crus, lying slightly north of the Chambertin-Clos de Bèze vineyard. This makes it the most northerly Grand Cru in Gevrey-Chambertin and ultimately in the Cote de Nuits.
The vineyards' 21.7 acres of growing space make it rather large for a Grand Cru, although smaller than the qualitatively challenged vineyard Chambertin.
Although it is the largest in terms of area among the nine Grand Cru vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin, Mazoyères-Chambertin is also one of the hardest to find. Legislation allows producers to use the name of the neighboring Charmes-Chambertin appellation, making Mazoyères-Chambertin rarer and less visible on the market.
Wines from this Grand Cru are renowned for their exceptional balance. They offer a complex aromatic profile with notes of tobacco, spices, and ripe dark fruits, while maintaining a refreshing quality. These wines have a solid yet well-integrated tannic structure, allowing them to mature beautifully over time. Thanks to their unique characteristics, Mazoyères-Chambertin wines pair perfectly with roasted, grilled, or sauced red meats, as well as game dishes.
Mazoyères-Chambertin wines are a true expression of the Burgundy terroir, combining power, elegance, and complexity, and are highly sought after by both connoisseurs and collectors.
Located in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, the Ruchottes-Chambertin appellation is, with the exception of Griotte-Chambertin, the smallest of Gevrey's Grands Crus. Only 7.4 acres are used for Ruchottes-labeled wine, which makes for just over 1,000 cases per year produced.
Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is one of the grand cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy. This wine is known for its structure and complexity, but it is often closed in its youth, developing its full aromatic range when it reaches perfect maturity.
The aromas of Latricières-Chambertin are characterized by vegetal notes, along with hints of mushrooms and undergrowth, adding depth and complexity to the wine. These traits make it a grand cru that pairs beautifully with rich and flavorful dishes, particularly game like venison or wild boar, which complement its aromas perfectly.
The average production of Latricières-Chambertin is around 40,000 bottles annually, divided among 12 producers. This makes it a relatively rare wine, highly sought after for its finesse and aging potential.
Latricières-Chambertin evolves magnificently over time and reaches its peak after 15 to 20 years of aging, during which it gains in complexity and harmony. On the palate, it offers a silky texture and impressive length, with fine tannins that integrate beautifully into the overall structure as the wine ages. This grand cru is especially suited for long-term cellaring and high-quality gastronomic meals.
Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru is one of the 9 grand cru vineyards of the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits, and it is distinguished by its small size, with only 2 hectares 69 ares. Despite its modest surface, this wine is known for its great complexity and elegance, making it a highly sought-after wine among lovers of refined wines.
The Griotte-Chambertin is particularly noted for its cherry aromas, which are present both on the nose and on the palate, in line with its name. These fruity notes blend with more subtle, refined touches, revealing a wine that is both fresh and complex, capable of delighting even the most discerning palates.
In tasting, this grand cru offers a fine structure, with silky tannins and a beautiful length. It is a true representation of the finesse and expression of Pinot Noir in this iconic region. While often more accessible in its youth, it also has an aging potential that allows it to gain in complexity over the years.
Griotte-Chambertin pairs wonderfully with delicate dishes, including roast meats, saucy dishes, or aged cheeses, providing a harmonious and refined gastronomic experience.
Clos Saint-Jacques is a Premier Cru vineyard used to produce red wine from Pinot noir grapes in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy.

The vineyard is 6.7 hectares in size and there are five strips, running from the top to the bottom of the vineyard, currently owned by five different producers.
The largest holder is Domaine Armand Rousseau with the original 2.20 hectares purchased by the Domaine. Sylvie Esmonin, the granddaughter of Henri Esmonin, holds 1.60 hectares. Bruno Clair and Maison Louis Jadot own 1 hectare each, which was split between them from the land purchased by Domaine Clair-Dau.
