  • Vega sicilia

A Spanish “First Growth”, Vega Sicillia is the most powerful producer hailing from the Ribera del Duero.

The property is over 2000 acres, only a fraction of which are planted to grapevines. Grapes grown include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Tinto Fino.

The Vega Sicilia range includes 3 cuvees: Unico (";unique";) is the flagship, followed by Reserva Especial a blend of top vintages and Valbuena is made from younger vines, and in years when Unico is not produced grapes normally destined for Unico will go into Valbuena.

  • Opus one

Opus One is a partnership founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Pauillac, France, and renowned Napa Valley vintner, Robert Mondavi.

The partnership made its first vintage in 1979.

  • Penfolds grange

"Grange is the benchmark by which all other reds in this country, and increasingly overseas, are often measured. The reasons for this are many yet straightforward. Concentration of flavour, complexity and longevity - Grange blossoms with 15 to 20 years of bottle age, when most other reds have past their best, and better vintages can live and continue developing for decades longer. And finally, heritage - first produced by Max Schubert in 1951, the '94 Grange represents over 40 years of winemaking excellence."

  • Dominus Estate

Located at the foothills of the Mayacamas, the vineyard was planted in 1838 and continues to evolve under the stewardship of Christian Moueix. The estate's Bordeaux varietals benefit from the Yountville microclimate where temperatures are moderated by cool breezes from the San Pablo Bay.

Known for its complexity and balance, Dominus demonstrates the potential of a wine produced on exceptional terroir. Structured, seamless and perfectly integrated, Dominus is an elegant wine that improves with age.

  • Harlan Estate

For over two decades, Harlan Estate has been committed to creating a California "first growth" wine estate. Founded in 1984, Harlan Estate is set in the western hills of Oakville, rising above the fabled Napa Valley benchlands.

  • Domaine de Pingus

Pingus was established in 1995 by Peter Sisseck, who had already made a name for himself as winemaker at Hacienda Monasterio.

He located three separate plots, each containing very old vines of Tinto Fino, and established the winery. His aim was to produce "an unmistakably Spanish, terroir-driven wine (...) a garage wine."

  • Alvaro Palacios

He acquired his first vineyard, Finca Dofí, in 1990. Then, in 1993, he located what is now regarded as the crown jewel property in Priorat, a precipitous, northeast-facing Garnacha vineyard on well-drained schist that had been planted between 1900 and 1940.

Alvaro named it L’Ermita for a small chapel. It is a blend of 80% Garnacha, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cariñena, and is aged in new French barriques for up to 20 months. It is bottled unfiltered.  It has intense concentration and enormous depth and a complexity which is simply staggering. Arguably the most individual red wine in Spain, it is certainly now the most expensive.
