domaine Charles Noëllat

The Charles Noëllat estate was a historic vineyard located in Vosne-Romanée, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. The estate owned prestigious plots, including the grand cru Richebourg, one of the most sought-after terroirs in the region. After Charles Noëllat's death in 1939, his wife Laure continued expanding the estate, which at its peak spanned over 40 hectares, including renowned Grand Crus like Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Clos de Vougeot.

In 1988, the estate was acquired by Lalou Bize-Leroy, the founder of Domaine Leroy, who incorporated these parcels into her own estate, marking the end of production under the Charles Noëllat name. Today, the rare remaining bottles of the estate are highly sought after by collectors, commanding high prices on the market. These wines, particularly those from Richebourg, are still prized for their finesse, complexity, and ability to reflect the Burgundy terroir.
