WEINGUT METZGER

The Metzger Winery is located about 23 km west of Mannheim, in Asselheim near Grünstadt. The Metzger family has been growing wine here for several generations, and Uli is currently in charge of the business.

The soils around Asselheim are characterized by limestone marl. Here, the Metzgers grow grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tempranillo. The wines that are produced here have a strong character, but also a balanced acidity. The Metzger family vineyards sit in the Sonnenberg, Vogelsang and St. Stephan sites.
